When Do You Need to Crop a PDF?

How PDF Cropping Works

PDF cropping uses the CropBox property defined in the PDF specification. Our tool uses PDF-lib to modify the crop box dimensions — specifying how much to trim from each edge (top, bottom, left, right) in PDF points (72 points = 1 inch). The underlying page content is not deleted — only the visible viewing area is changed. This means cropping is non-destructive.

Is cropping reversible?
